"The effect you have on others (Part 3)"Link to the story or click on the image ->
About the creative process:Commaful is an excellent medium to create compelling dialogues. This story had three parts. The first piece focused on word-placement to transmit the different speakers.
The second piece used photos to accomplish a similar effect. The thought behind it was: "How can I best foreshadow the different speakers to make reading more fluid?" The images for this story come from artist George Condo. This piece was influenced heavily by the work of @sugar_cupcake who does an exceptional job, not just with the formatting, but also with the images and the wording. |
Background
Commaful only allows a white font (Lato). It is recommended to use the darker portions of your backgrounds when possible.
|
By placing these words in the opposite corner and on top of the image, you get a much clearer sense of the different character. You also introduce some necessary dynamism which represents the back & forth nature of a dialogue.

Word Placement: Up or Down?
Transitions
In this case, it was enough to use a different image and a centered title. Because the characters needed time to arrive at the bar, this type of transition helps convey the feeling that time has passed.
|
This particular transition was not like the previous one.
Using a title would have created an overly abrupt break. |
